Katharine Dufault ' Celestial Moon X'
Artist Statement
Created during the COVID-19 quarantine, the recent prints are variations on celestial images of planets and stars in - or out - of alignment. They are a reflection to some extent of what seems to be my reality where everything is in flux and change. The prints are energetic portraits which reflect the emotions of these times arising from the ecological and social issues with our planet. I attempt to create images which are both familiar and unknown which urge one to look up and behold the celestial bodies in the night sky.
Artist Bio
British born Katharine Dufault is a New York Times-reviewed artist, curator and consultant. As a multimedia artist, she works in oils, encaustic, printmaking and photography. Dufault graduated with honors from Columbia University, with a degree in painting and literature after studying visual arts, graphic design and photography at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, England. She regularly exhibits her work and has been in numerous shows in New York City, Boston, Ohio, Connecticut, Westchester county, the Berkshires and Cambridge, England. Dufault’s work is included in many corporate and private collections. Dufault lives and works in Columbia County, NY and the Berkshires, MA.
