Artist Statement

I make block-printed wallpaper for a living and started creating this series of drawings from spending my professional time in a world of visual repetition. I find repetition itself to be pleasing, as even the most simple of motifs and symbols become satisfying once they are continuously duplicated. In these drawings, I take that idea to an extreme: taking a simple triangular grid and distorting it to create tantalizing spaces, objects, and shapes. These drawings were originally drafted on the computer and then were transformed through a pen plotting device.
