Christian Wechgelaer 'Magic Hour'
Magic Hour, 2021 Archival Inkjet Print, 16 x 21 inches.
Artist Statement
Photography documents moments and spaces that can be tucked away and recalled at a later date. During our lives, a photograph can become a proxy for the actual memory. Through rephotographing family pictures, childhood drawings, and spaces associated with my memory, I construct physical representations of remembering. Each piece represents a window into a forgotten youth, where new meaning is being uncovered.
