Artist statement

The promise of an internet utopia was fulfilled for people who needed a quiet place to hide and exist without fear of real world repercussions. My work uses the digital world to safely explore the jittering anxiety and fear that could not be voiced in my childhood. Through video and performance I unwind the cacophony into simple declarations of acceptance, relief, and grief. By saying the quiet part out loud I create an empathetic space for those who have experienced verbal abuse and provide an opportunity for those on the outside to find understanding.
