Timothy Kelly 'Nancy'
Drawer 3- Nancy, acrylic on paper, 11"x11", 2019
Artist Statement
I believe we spend life trying to control the space around us. We perform tasks that emphasize and glorify the byproducts of control. I believe that through the use of different media, the artist uses control to provide meaning. In my work, I examine what happens when the ordered and calculated are interrupted by the irregular and uncontrollable. I explore the relationship that occurs when these forms mix and whether or not they succeed in creating a new form of order or pattern.
