Julie Pamkowski - Tribute, 5.26.20 (Archival Inkjet Print, 10" x 8", 2020)
As a child I would pick flowers out of my Mom's garden so we could bring them to my Grandfather's grave. These little bundles represented our love and heartache, as well as our admiration for him. Recently, during the historic 2020 pandemic, I have begun to gather flowers from the garden again. I have been creating what I call "Tributes" for all of the lives lost, and all of the people who continue to suffer. Tributes are intended to be beautiful depictions of honor and meant to generate a sense of peace and tranquility to those who view them.
