Jennifer Kahrs - Janus (oil on canvas, 30 1/8" x 30 1/8", 2020)
In the early days of the pandemic, I hid under my blankets, when I emerged I opened the door to an alternate universe where I was only a painter with very simple expectations. I was so intoxicated within this moment I began 6 different paintings, the first in nearly five years. I challenged myself to control and repeat the paint brush strokes in the other direction.
