STATEMENT

I'm interested in the universal psychology of the everyday, then making it my own. My multi media practice finds its psychological analogues in the blurring of beauty and grotesquerie, nostalgia and critique. I situate this practice in a place where high and low not only interact but cross-pollinate. In so doing, my work suggests an alternative narrative of how and why visual ideas develop; because my language draws in such a large part from the private realm of domestic environments, my artwork elicits emotional responses that are both uncannily familiar and disarmingly strange.
