How does the banal rise to the occasion of myth?

Out of pure necessity.
Myths are born from mundanity. 
None of us walk in a world of mythic proportion. 
Life is generally comprised of the monotony of small acts. 

Subtlety at some point becomes extravagant; even if only for the briefest of moments, and makes an impact. Transferring into a ripple: it reaches out gently, brushing against all it comes in contact with, and leaving its mark. The saturation of those marks on all of us, in turn, creates lore.

The sculptures, performances, and installations in “That. Was. EPIC!!!!” are desperate to make sense of how certain moments, objects, and experiences cross over from the quotidian of life to become those indelible gestures.
