Collar Works is pleased to announce Pursuant Pharaohs, an exhibition of twenty-one U.S. and International contemporary artists

While most of the game hunting in New York State officially opens its season on Saturday, October 1st, Collar Works gallery in Troy, New York gets in on the action early by offering a showcase of work that exemplifies the human desire for relentless pursuit. Hunting season conjures visuals of rustic lodges, camouflage getups, hanging carcasses, and mounted trophies. “The hunt” however, with its intrinsic search for bounty, influences human experiences far beyond the landscape of fields and streams. With the current global vernacular focused on headlines about the Arab Spring uprisings, lengthy unemployment lines, indicted financiers, super-sized athletes, and lofty dreams of home-ownership, private islands, and singing idols, the evidence of the human desire for relentless pursuit is undeniable. There lies a “pursuant pharaoh” in all of us.

Pursuant Pharaohs exhibits 21 national and international contemporary artists and is on display at Collar Works gallery in Troy, New York from Friday September 30th until Friday October 21st. There will be an opening reception on Friday September 30th from 5pm-9pm. Light refreshments will be served.
