Louisiana Sampler
curated by Ingrid Ludt

March 29-April 26, 2013
Artist Reception: March 29, 2013 from 5-9PM

Participating Artists:
Kyle Bravo, Rachel Avena Brown, Brooke Pickett and Jonathan Traviesa

The exhibition provides a glimpse into the world of four artists currently living and working in New Orleans, all of whom have an association with the critically acclaimed not-for-profit collective, The Front. Founded by artists in 2008 amidst the post-Katrina resurgence of New Orleans and committed to a spirit of grassroots DIY determinism, The Front cultivates new and experimental work, in particular from emerging artists, but also from nationally and internationally known artists. Among the works shown will be a large scale self-portrait wall drawing by Kyle Bravo; sculpture and video by Rachel Avena Brown; paintings by Brooke Pickett; and photographs by Jonathan Traviesa.
