Collar Works is pleased to announce Gilding the Collapse: Artists of the Billboard Art Project, a group exhibition of eighteen artists curated by area artist Jennifer Hunold, presented in conjunction with the Billboard Art Project coming early July to Fuller Road in Albany.

Featuring a diverse range of artists who have previously exhibited works with the Billboard Art Project, Gilding the Collapse is an energetic exhibition concerned with perception. Worlds are created, observed, altered, and destroyed; memories and environments are tarnished or made lustrous; myths and realities are ornamented or pared down. Elements of connection, objectification, idealization, and desire, as well as activism, dislocation, and destruction permeate the work in this exhibition to call into question our relationship with our external and internal habitats.

Artist chosen for this exhibition previously exhibited work for The Billboard Art Project in cities across the U.S. The Billboard Art Project acquires digital billboards normally used for advertising and re-purposes them as roadside galleries. From July 2nd through July 15th on Fuller Road in Albany - just north of Arlene's Artist Materials - a digital billboard will be transformed into a 24-hour, two week long art exhibition featuring local and national artists. Be sure to drive or stop by!
